Bangalore:Â Â Over two lakh city Facebook users woke up to a social media embarrassment yesterday morning as their accounts had been hacked and weblinks to their morphed pornographic pictures sent as feeds to friends and family.
According to global media reports, more than 60 lakh Facebook accounts were hacked since Sunday night. Social networking analysts have claimed that officially more than 2 lakh Bangalore Facebook accounts were hacked.
The cybercrime department has received many calls and complaints regarding the mass hacking. They have started preliminary investigations in a few cases too.

Surprise surprise! There’s a new flaw in the ‘system’ that tracks down the user’s location through their IP address.
It has been reported that any skilled hacker can now find out the location of a user logged into their account. This gives us another reason to be ‘extra careful’ when using programs and softwares that help us communicate with our loved ones and a few not-so-loved!
A file containing 10,365 e-mails from Iran’s Passport and Visa Office were released by digital activist group Anonymous Operations on June 2.
The 63mb file began appearing online on May 30, but was encrypted. The password to open the file was expected to be released June 1, yet was delayed amid claims by Anonymous the Iranian regime was trying to cover up the breach.
For more than a month, Chinese hackers were sifting through e-mails and information from Japanese parliament. The computers were affected by a trojan horse, which was sent to a Lower House member in July, according to Naked Security, the official blog of security company Sophos. They cited information from Japanese media Asahi Shimbun.
